The guy who ordered this vest had his own elk skin that he wanted to use. What I often suggest is that I use my regular moccasin cowhide leather for the laces. It is much stronger than elk skin lacing would be and makes the vest stronger in just the right places - the seams and edges. It is built with my braided construction, has a shawl collar, two outside pockets, and two inside pockets (same location).
